Marking

“Photographs are a means of making “real” (or “more real”) matters that the privileged and the merely safe might prefer to ignore.” - Susan Sontag, Regarding the Pain of Others

Scars, stains, cracks and fractures capture a specific moment in time and space, and leave an original imprint that can’t be reproduced. A unique mark. I see beauty in these imperfections and explored this perspective through the medium of photography. For a detailed description of this series visit my "Marking" write-up in "Behind the Lens"

A subset of the raw images in this series were selected and divided into three sections below: 1) stains 2) scar, cracks & fractures and 3) dents & bumps. No photo filters were used to show their innate quality. Ensure to scroll through the page to see all three sections.
